Booking information: A visit to any prisoner must be booked prior to the visit and a dedicated line is available from 08:30-12:00 and 13:00-16:30 Monday to Friday on 01937 444 599.

Additional information: Wealstun has a Visitors Centre for use on visiting days which opens from 13:00 Mon-Fri and 08:30 on weekends. The visiting room has play area facilities and a refreshment counter where food may be purchased.

Official visitors are advised to confirm that the prisoner is still located at the establishment by contacting the prison the day before the scheduled visit.

How to get there:

• Train: The nearest mainline railway station is Leeds.
• Bus: From Leeds Central Bus Station take the 770 Wetherby bus (stand 24) which leaves at 05 minutes and 35 minutes past the hour Monday-Saturday and at 50 minutes past the hour on Sunday (times are subject to change). The bus stops outside the prison. From York it is best to take a taxi, although there is a 79 bus to Wetherby at 10.55 from Monday – Saturday (it does not run on Sundays).
• Car: HMP Wealstun is approximately 3 miles from the A1. Driving North or South on the A1, take the exit signposted Wetherby (A58). Follow A58 (Walton Road) signposted Walton. Take the 4th right turn (Prison Signposted). The prison is located on the left after approx 1/2 mile.
